I’ve not getting a luck yet to find exactly what I want, but as long as it asks for password to access my files …that’s all I care for now :).

I have HDD and I just don’t like to leave it hang around somewhere and knowing the fact that anybody else can access it..pretty much. So, I started look around. 3 softwares, I’ve tried it all :). 2 out of 3, I have purchased the single license. But, it was my fault. I want to share my mistake, so nobody else do the same mistake like I did :).

First thing before you choose the password protect folder for your HDD, make sure you know that it is formatted under FAT or NTFS. Knowing this fact will help you to choose which software you can get. There are softwares that are not supporting NTFS, so if you have your HDD under NTFS format…you are out of luck. Well…not really. You can format the HDD and make a format to use FAT. But, it is not an option when you have several files that are important and you do not really want to touch or transfer any of these. FIRST RULE: make sure you know which system that your HDD has been formatted to.

Afterward, it is all about your preferences :). If the software make offers trial version, use the trial version to see how it works. If you don’t like it, simply uninstall it and go to the next one on your list.

For your references, these three softwares are the one that I tried for:

1. Lockngo, Demo version is available.
2. Secure Crypt 2.0. I couldn’t see how it works without full license, so I decided not to go with this one.
3. Password Protect Folder, Trial version is available.

I was looking around for external HDD password lock protection that work more like winXP, but no luck yet. When I find it, I’ll let you know :).

For a while, I’ve been searching for support documentations in regards to built in web camera troubleshooting that is installed within HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with Windows Vista operating system. Eventhough I did the best keyword search phrases on the search engines, my results were nil due to uncommented posts on founded forum discussion related this issue. Then, I realized something … In accessing the registry for Windows Vista, it requires you to “run as administrator”.

The Steps:

1. If you have Hotmail MSN shortcut on your desktop, please select it and right click your mouse. Then choose “run as administrator”.
2. Sign in to your Hotmail Messenger. If you have set up Audio & Video setting, your built in webcam will work automatically. If not, please follow the next step.
3. Click “show menu” icon. Then choose “Tools - Audio and Video Setup”.
4. Follow Hotmail Messenger instruction and you are back to fun live webcam chat .

Microsoft Office does not come with PDF converter or print. I have made a nice presentation document with Microsoft Word but I would like to have it as .PDF file. How do I convert Microsoft Word document into .PDF file?

Here these one of the solution to do so:

1. Check whether you have “Adobe Reader” installed in your computer. If not, please download and install “Adobe Reader” into your computer.
2. Once you have “Adobe Reader” installed in your computer, let’s run the program by mouse over your cursor to “Windows Start Menu - All programs - Adobe Reader “.
3. On your Adobe Reader window, go to “File - Created Adobe .PDF Online”. Then, follow the instructions.

   

4. Login with your Adobe ID, if you do not have one please register to get Adobe ID by Adobe Free Trial or Full Adobe Subscriber.

   

5. Once you log in, choose “Convert File” Icon

   

6. Then select the file that you want to convert in your hardrive, click continue. Then, follow the instruction

   

In the end of conversion, you could request Adobe Reader your preferred option to receive converted file whether by waiting until conversion is finish or send it as email attachment. Just choose one of the option and you will receive your converted .PDF file.

If you have WSFTP Pro (mine is IPSWitch English 2007 Version) and would like to use it in Windows Vista OS, then you have to do windows vista driver update for WSFTP Pro English 2007 version.

A Vista compatible version of WS_FTP client is available today. If you own a WS_FTP Pro / Home 2007 license or have an Active Service Agreement, you are entitled to the download now. Get the install from our Download Center. (Note: You will need your serial number and the Email address used to register).

Problem:
Lexmark X7170 Series does not respond to print document with Windows Vista operating system

Solution:

1. Download Lexmark X7170 Series driver
2. Run downloaded driver
3. Follow installation guides

In summary of new driver installation, it will uninstall old driver and requires PC restart. Then, run the setup.exe from direct windows folder path c:drivers/printer/7100/ . Follow installation guides and you will be able to use your Lexmark X7170 Series printer again.

I was just done writing some post here and suddenly I realize that my RSS feed links do not work where it gave me error code:

XML parsing error < ? xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ? >

Error Solutions:

1. First thing I check is my activated wordpress plugins. I deactivate one by one and keep refreshing the page until I found plugin that cause this error message appear
2. In my case, I have “Another Wordpress Meta” plugin that caused this error to occur for my RSS feed, filename: metatitle.php in my plugin dir
3. I deactivated “Another Wordpress Meta” plugin. Then, I go to my wordpress plugin dir in my webhosting account to get filename: metatitle.php, which is the file that generated this plugin. In the file, I remove any space lines removing at the top and bottom of the php files
4. Save the file and reupload into the plugin dir, then activate it
5. Refresh the feed page and it works !

Hopefully this will help somebody who still have this problem with their wordpress RSS Feed .
