My sister has been sending me lots of stuff via email and this morning I poke arround little bit to see what she got. I found something on her facebook *Big sister gotta check up the little sister :)* and it was on the picture from one of her facebook’s friend, called “Simple Rules to be Happy”.

So, what have I been doing lately?

I have HDD and I just don’t like to leave it hang around somewhere and knowing the fact that anybody else can access it..pretty much. So, I started look around. 3 softwares, I’ve tried it all :). 2 out of 3, I have purchased the single license. But, it was my fault. I want to share my mistake, so nobody else do the same mistake like I did :).

First thing before you choose the password protect folder for your HDD, make sure you know that it is formatted under FAT or NTFS. Knowing this fact will help you to choose which software you can get. There are softwares that are not supporting NTFS, so if you have your HDD under NTFS format…you are out of luck. Well…not really. You can format the HDD and make a format to use FAT. But, it is not an option when you have several files that are important and you do not really want to touch or transfer any of these. FIRST RULE: make sure you know which system that your HDD has been formatted to.

Afterward, it is all about your preferences :). If the software make offers trial version, use the trial version to see how it works. If you don’t like it, simply uninstall it and go to the next one on your list.

For your references, these three softwares are the one that I tried for:

1. Lockngo, Demo version is available.
2. Secure Crypt 2.0. I couldn’t see how it works without full license, so I decided not to go with this one.
3. Password Protect Folder, Trial version is available.

I was looking around for external HDD password lock protection that work more like winXP, but no luck yet. When I find it, I’ll let you know :).

I’m testing out “Google Custom Search Engine” code and I will tell you more about it later on. Let me experience myself and reveal it’s secret !
